About

Sports Saved My Life.

- Castelli Laflotte

My name is Castelli Laflotte, mostly known now as Coach Stelli. I’ve been coaching for over  9 years now, starting as a coach at the Marlene Meyerson JCC on the upper west side and later becoming their Athletic Director. I learned how to lead a team of coaches and create a nurturing environment for kids to play and learn. I then moved on to be the Coach Supervisor for Amazing Athletes in  NY/NJ. I was able to lead a team of 50+ coaches deliver a high-quality curriculum and help our kids develop as athletes. The curriculum I was able to develop, now reaches thousands of children all across the country. I am now the Athletics Director at the Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, I came from a single parent household. I played everything from basketball to football to swimming to bowling & was immersed in the sports culture through after school programs and weekend activities. Playing different sports allowed me to develop many different skills and abilities that would help shape my character. Physically sports saved my life. I grew up obese with many health conditions that would threaten my life down the road & through sports and fitness, I was able to take control of my life and perform at my highest level!

It is through sports I learned how to be a better person. Realistically, only the very few ever make it to play professional sports. What happens to the majority of us leftover who don’t make it? We become doctors, lawyers, teachers, service workers, entrepreneurs etc. Sports help us build character. I believe sports teach us about ourselves by pushing us to limits we didn’t’ think we could reach. Sports teach us how to interact with other and collaborate to succeed. Playing sports has made me the man I am today and it’s why I chose to become a coach. I am dedicated to giving kids the opportunity to play, learn and perform at their highest level while simultaneously becoming better people.

Now, more than ever, we need our kids to be active and engaged. I vow to provide a safe and healthy environment for your child to do so.

Testimonial

At Momentum sports we truly value our families opinions. We want to create the best experience possible not only for the athlete but for our families as well.

There is no one like Coach Stelli. No one. I came to Stelli after being disappointed in most NYC children’s athletics programs - where the coaches weren’t very enthusiastic or detail-oriented. I wanted someone who challenged my kids, taught them real skills, and made them stronger physically and mentally. Stelli does just that; he teaches them resilience, coordination, balance, and respect. His sessions are hard. Your kids will sweat. But you will see your kids rise to the occasion, and it will be their favorite class. I trust Coach Stelli implicitly with my daughter and son, and hope to work with him for years to come!

"Coach Stelli has been the highlight of my sons' extracurricular activities for several years. He is amazing with kids of all ages and keeps them learning new skills by creating age appropriate games and sports drills. He seems to have a magic way of engaging children, maintaining their attention and getting otherwise shy or disinterested children to participate. His classes and parties are a 10 out of 10 every time."

My boys have been working with Coach Stelli for the past 5 years through group classes, team sports and one-on-one instruction. As a parent, I couldn’t ask for a more trustworthy role model and coach! Coach Stelli excels at finding the balance between fun, engaging, play and hard work. He meets kids where they are and encourages growth and development of skills and confidence through disciplined practice. A true gem!
